Father's Day is a great opportunity to explore the latest and greatest golf gear for Dad.

U.S. Open week culminates with Sunday's final round on Father's Day.

It's a perfect symbol of the enduring bond between dads and golf. Shopping for gifts for golfers can be tricky. Is your dad a diehard player who already has everything? Or is he a casual golfer who is always looking for something to help him improve?

Either way, you can make Father's Day 2025 a memorable one by finding that perfect gift.

The one Father’s Day golf gift you *shouldn’t* buy (with a caveat)

There’s one genre of golf item we’re frankly not inclined to recommend buying for Father's Day:

Golf clubs.

If Dad is a golf equipment nut, chances are he wants to get custom-fitted for that new driver or irons, as opposed to receiving something off-the-rack that might or (most likely) might not end up suiting him. Putters can also be custom fit, but they are more uniform in nature, so we have included one putter that could make sense for dad. It's as hot as any golf equipment brand when it comes to professional golfers.

We know not everyone has a big budget for Father's Day gifts, so we've separated all of our recommendations by price. Hopefully, we can inspire you to shop appropriately according to your budget:

The easiest way to keep Dad cool on the golf course

mission-cooling-neck-gaiter.jpeg
Mission's cooling neck gaiter is an inexpensive must for hot-weather rounds of golf.

For years, I have brought a super-absorbent cooling towel with me to every hot summer round. I make sure to submerge it in water every few holes and hang it over the back of my neck between shots to help trick my brain into forgetting that it’s 90-plus degrees outside. But recently, I tested a thin, stretchy and cooling neck gaiter from Mission, which makes all sorts of hot-weather gear for golfers, hikers and other athletes. Their neck gaiter works the same as the cooling towel, but better, because I can simply keep it on while I hit shots. I anticipate I’ll be wearing it for most summer rounds, and if your favorite Golf Dad plays in the heat, too, he’ll thank you for the thoughtful gift of instant cool. $16.99 on Amazon. - Tim Gavrich

Alpaca wool golf socks Dad will adore

altera-alpaca-surino.png
Altera's alpaca and Merino wool socks are ideal for golf.

Golf socks might seem like a weird or mailed-in golf gift, but Altera Alpaca’s golf socks are some of the best money can buy. And on a hot day, Dad's feet will thank him for not putting just any old golf sock on them. Alpaca wool is even more durable and breathable than Merino wool, which makes it perfect for sweltering summer golf. I swear by the Surino line of golf socks, which are plain in appearance and absolutely spectacular in performance - . $22 per pair. - T.G.

Any one of 2025’s hottest golf books

Golf books are an inexpensive gift and they're easy to ship, wrap or travel with. This year's crop is quite robust. I particularly love The Golf 100, ranking the best players of all-time, male and female, in one list. Click on the article below to see the full selection. - Jason Scott Deegan

The club-cleaning brush touring pros swear by

grooveit-brush.JPG
GrooveIt's club brush combines sturdy materials with clever design.

GrooveIt’s “Wet Club Scrub” is a terrific golf club cleaning brush with high-quality materials and a clever design. You can fill the main chamber with water and at the press of your thumb, it will spritz a bit onto your clubface, making it easier for the stiff plastic bristles to whisk away unwanted grime. A strong magnet and good carabiner helps hook the GrooveIt to your golf bag while making it easy to remove when needed – much better than the brushes with unreliable retractable cord connections. GrooveIt also makes a smaller and lower-cost brush called the miniG, but we prefer the instant-wetting capabilities of the original. $24.99 on Amazon. - T.G.

L.A.B. Golf Oz.1 putter

L.A.B. Golf Oz.1 putters

Instead of the tradition pendulum swing of the putter face, L.A.B. putters virtually force your stroke to stay consistently down the line. Once you learn the feel and nuances of this new approach, you should theoretically make more putts. The OZ.1 was developed in collaboration with and inspired by former Masters champion Adam Scott.
